[A] To commence at John's birthplace make your way along the High Street and stand outside John Muir House, 128 High Street, which has been restored to represent his natal home. East Lothian Council, with the participation of the owners, have made available the top flat as a small Museum in tribute to John. Visitors can also see pictorial and audio-visual presentations, which illuminate the significance of John Muir's pioneering work in nature and wilderness preservation.

John Muir House [1] is open daily from May to September and outwith this period by arrangement with East Lothian Museum Service (01620 828203/4).
