There are many routes to the shore-side from the High Street - Victoria Street [18] and then south on Lamer Street; Silver Street and its continuation, The Vennel; or Woodbush Brae.
The latter is the best. The entrance to the sands at the foot of Woodbush passes a massive seawall on the right. This is another remnant from John's time.
