Formed in 1992, the History Society aims to bring together and encourage people with a common interest in the history of Dunbar and the surrounding district. Additional aims were to preserve the heritage of Dunbar and to work towards the establishment of a museum in the town.
To these ends, the Society pursues a policy of organising research and collecting data relevant to the history of Dunbar and promotes interest in the preservation improvement or restoration of local buildings, while cooperating with other local bodies.
