In addition to organising the monthly meetings, the Committee supervise the running of the Society's Local History Room in the Town House. This is manned by Society volunteers and is run through a cooperation with East Lothian Museum Service who are responsible for Dunbar Town House Museum. The Local History Room, in conjunction with the Town House Museum, is open every afternoon from April to October and normally at weekends only throughout the winter.

Dunbar Town House (pre-1913) |
The Local History Room boasts a large collection of photographs of old Dunbar, together with information concerning most aspects of the town's history. In addition, a collection of both Valuation Rolls, maps of the area and miscellaneaous documents are available for reference purposes on request. The Society is always anxious to obtain new or rare photographs of the town, to add to the collection. Private viewings of the material can be arranged and slide shows are also given.
