Further down the High Street is the West Port. If you head west along this street to [J] Lawson Place on the right you are at another of the Burgh boundaries, once marked by a gate [17].
Beside the last tenement on the south side some steps lead up to the 'Monk's Walk', a narrow path giving access to the back gardens and greens of the High Street. A useful route for a boy because
